I went through the process of rigging up a set a VStar forward controls. They reall are engineered well. The foot board and brake pedals hinge, so if any forward object is struck, they flip up and spring loaded to go down again. Bought some 1/4" steel, threaded rod and some pipe and made a hanging bracket, to adapt onto the XS frame. Pretty comfortable.

Any possibility for a sketch / drawing of the

The flip back I believe is a good feature I have heard that the frame can take a hit if the bike falls over without it
Any good place to get the controls ??

The flip back feature can also save a jack knife from happening when you corner a turn too low. Had a close friend bounce off the pavement years ago and end up in the hospital a few months for having no give, off his frame when it jammed against the pavement.
