Yes, basically, you just need to grind into the bottom of the rocker arm enough so that the elephant foot will retract into it enough to provide clearance to the cam lobe. You need this for assembly/disassembly, so the elephant foot isn't pressing the valve open. It can't be retracted enough with the stock rocker .....
...... so you need to grind into the rocker enough so that the angled portion of the "foot" will fit up into the rocker ......
On the first couple sets I installed, I ground the whole bottom of the rocker off. While this worked, it required removing the rockers from the top cover ......
The way I do it now (just grinding a taper into the end of the rocker) allows me to do it with the rockers still installed. I just wrap the top cover up in a big rag to keep the grinding grit out ......
