Valve seat cutters? Doing it myself?

There is a inner spring seat and an outer spring seat.i pointed to them in the pic.
Yes. The head is aluminum. We don't want a steel spring wearing on it, so there's a steel washer between the head and the spring.

Can't really tell until you wipe the oil off, but those rockers look to be brinneled pretty bad.... shot.

I only see valve measures on one intake valve. Measure both and label.
The four tip measures should be tip to head spring pocket(under spring seat).
Lash adjusters are shot.
Need pix of valve tip condition(all 4).

Are the lash adjusters the tappet screws and if so I can I just change those apose to buying rocker arm . And if so should use OEM stock or go with elephant shoes that I saw on a post in xs650? Or can I just polish up the ones I have

Yeas adjusters are the tappet screws, yes replace since 1)damaged 2)they would hold setting.
These stockers got you so far, stick with 'em.

Now for the crux. We need to measure guide wear.
Get the right equipment, or use the valve in the guide.
Just off seating, rock valve forward/back and measure valve rock.

Just making sure we have the same call-outs

This is similar to the one I used
4 to 6 thousands rock, with the valves just off the seat by 10 or so thou. is bad.
Try all 4 valves in respective holes.

Try to imagine valve coming down on the seat cocked. The valve will find it's way "home" while scrubbing the seat.
600 times per minute at idle.

Giggles, you can clean up what you have and dump some gas or kero in the chamber to see how bad it leaks.
