Bosco I do not give that reviewer to much credibility. Some of the things he said are undeniable others are just wrong. For example the GS 1000 was not contemporary with the RE5 so choosing the GS1000 over the rotary when new was not an option.
I once didn't go to a movie because it had a poor review, much later I saw it and thoroughly enjoyed it.

Not everybody likes XS 650's. This video has some glaring chronological and photo placement error's but the presenter sounds confident.

I guess it depends on one's definition of "bombed." In the case of the XS/TX650, why would something that bombed be marketed for 15 years?

Yeah, when I worked at a Yamaha shop late 70's/early 80's we sold every XS650 I could put together out of the crate...especially the black ones.

They never sat on the floor long...sold like hot cakes.
