Yeah, I suspect it's a combination of the crossover pipe and the shitty Chinese Commando's.

I suspect the crossover pipe helps a lot with restrictive mufflers, the less restrictive the mufflers the less benefit.. I bought two used Hinkley Triumphs, the one with OE mufflers was very blue at the crossover, indicating lots of activity there. The one that had the mufflers changed at the dealer to obnoxiously loud open Predators had no bluing in the crossover area. Those EMGO do look awful inside.
