After years of procrastination (Hardheadedness) since all the little add on gadgets keep coming out I ordered one this summer that’s actually a twin to mailman’s from his original post. All my questions were answered here.I’ll get it on this winter while making my keeper 75b more reliable and worthy.Great group.

I have to do this volt meter install, after my XS 650 left me walking a week ago, with a couple miss fires, and then flat ass shut down, long story short, Wished I had a volt meter before my Sunday ride, not gonna be caught up in that situation ever again?
(Thanks for the the info)

I got a brace of little volt meters off Amazon and mounted one where the brake/tail light used to be. I ground off the little protrusions at the bottom of the "well", then used a case from an old rocker switch sort of like a picture frame to center it in the dash. Then I smashed a bulb and soldered the leads to it, using hot glue as a potting material to keep the wires situated. Then I wired the brake warning light socket to a switched lead and bob's yer mother's brother.

I bought a small, round one off ebay and hooked it to the brake like light switch via a weather proof momentary on push switch. It's mounted over top of the swingarm, beneath the side panel on a small triangular bracket I made. To even things up, I mounted another blank, triangular plate in the same place on the other side.
