Left side lower sidecover for my 1982-1983 Yamaha XS650 Heritage Special. Yamaha part # 5V4-21731-00-00 . I need it either NOS or very nice. I'm in Nevada in the US.

I'm getting rid of a bunch of parts from a couple "sacrificial" partial bikes I picked up for parts to restore my '79. If you can send me a PM with a pic of what you need I may be able to help you out.

If there's anybody looking for anything specific off an '80, lemme know and I'll see what I have before it all heads for a dumpster or something.

OK, that's the plastic side cover on the frame, not the engine side cover, right. Might just have that. Will be out at the shop tomorrow and send you a pic.

Any chance this is what you're seeking? This has the nameplate, and a little extra striping (which I'm sure can be removed with a bit of compunding). You'd be welcome to both sides so they'll match. Lemme know. Yours for the shipping.

Those are the standard Special side covers. Someone will want them. This thread is about the Heritage covers that fit beneath them.

Sorry, Phil. Had to go back to the top of the thread and look again. Guess it was "RJames" who wanted the side covers. Anyway, I was offering him the two I have (which are apparently not the ones he wanted anyway. Haven't heard back from RJames, so perhaps he already found some. Anyway, I've got a pallet full of parts that have been laying around for years. Seems like there's no shortage of parts for these things, so maybe nobody needs them. Probably just go through the pile, see what I might possibly ever need to keep my old '79 running and get rid of the rest.

I need to do the same. Some parts have value. Some you can give away. Some you can’t. I try not to let anything go to waste.

Go buy a sheet of ABS and build your own with a heat gun. It's what I ended doing after falling down the 82/83 lower left frame cover
rabbit hole a few years back.
