Hello,

I’m currently installing a new wiring harness in a WASP sidecar with an XS1B (447) engine. I’m planning to add a Koso speedometer and install an electronic Vape ignition
system, as well as LED turn signals and parking lights, along with an ignition switch. So far, so good.

The wiring harness that was previously installed in the vehicle was a source of constant problems and was therefore replaced with a replica wiring harness designed for the XS1B,
in the hope that the wiring diagrams I was able to find would match the colors. Unfortunately, that is not the case.

That’s why I’d be very grateful for your collective wisdom regarding the identification of the cable colors shown here.

In the middle of the harness, just before it splits off toward the wiring (?), there is a six-pin connector:

Yellow with a green stripe

Yellow with blue stripes
Yellow with white stripes
Light blue

I suspect this is a connection to the original alternator?

and outside this six-pin connector, a single yellow connector with a male pin. I suspect this is a connection to the rear brake light switch

Then there is this 3-Pin i cannot identify, the Diagrams are not clear about this:

In the front of the Wiring Harness is a 6 Pin, i suspect these are the Control Lights (Turn Signal, Oilpressure, Neutral, Light?)

Iam very thankful about every hint i can get on this.
Thank You!

Do you know what year bike the harness was sold to fit? Unfortunately the replacement harnesses don't always have wire colors that fully match the original colors. Add in the occasional connection mistakes in them and fun ensues. I suspect you are right about the 6 pin being the alternator plug, the separate wire feeds the safety relay which controls the starter motor and headlight. But that relay varies by year. There is a mismatch between xs1b and 447, an xs1b motor is a 1971 256 with no starter. A 447 type motor was used from 1974 on in the USA. Welcome aboard and hope we can help untangle the wires.

Thank you so much, the information about the difference (starter/ no starter) between the XS1B and the 447 is very important for me.
So its an X1SB Engine in a Wasp-Frame. Also thanks for the Wiring Diagram, its the first one that seems to fit to my Wiring Harness!
