The engine oil doesn't go in the primary chain casing, does it?^^^^ Agree. There are also of course quite a number of name brand oil flush additive products out there, but I might be a bit worried about their effect on wet clutch discs?

Good idea. Also a good time to check for cracking in the frame welds around that area. I seem to recall there were issues with the OIF design in that area?I would pull the bottom plate(four bolts) off the frame back bone. All the sludge will be right there, the oil pickup screen will be right there, for cleaning.

You're certainly correct in this case, but I was thinking more generally, as in many 4-stroke m/c engine designs, the crankcase and primary fluids are common. The engine oil doesn't go in the primary chain casing, does it?

Exactly, Also, I would remove the sump plug for the little bit there.would pull the bottom plate(four bolts) off the frame back bone. All the sludge will be right there, the oil pickup screen will be right there, for cleaning.
Thank you I appreciate the input Experienced input .. I like stock and they are solidly built on the outside . But Maybe other options are betterPersonally, I wouldn't bother with 1970s handlebar switches. They were dreadful. I would go for a more modern switch assembly like Domino or similar.
Of course, it's different if you want to keep it like a stock bike.
I found some cheap alloy handelbar switches, undoubtedly Chinese, to fit to my Royal Enfield Bullet.Personally, I wouldn't bother with 1970s handlebar switches. They were dreadful. I would go for a more modern switch assembly like Domino or similar.
