Been wonderin about progress on them . . .
Been wonderin about progress on them . . .
And don't forget about VanGo.
Progress?Been wonderin about progress on them . . .
Same thing here too. No work on the 650 until the temperature gets a bit better outside.Progress?
Mostly been too cold to work out in the garage. Soon I hope... some progress.
As they say in these parts "thee dusna want to be going out in that, yer'll catch chinkoff".Cold space - A Chinese diesel heater will fix up the cold in a small garage quickly. Probably $100usd?

Yep, I’m a triumph guy personally, work on a ‘69 TR6C and a ‘ 73 T100Just start a thread on any bike you are currently working on.
I’m currently running threads on The Brat (R1200GS); Merlin (GL1000 Goldwing); R53 Mini car, as well as Taffy (XS650).
It’s great, as many members here will give feedback on everything & anything.![]()
Yeah, sparks shooting across the points is a sure sign the condenser (or a connection to it) is dead.I spent part of the afternoon checking the timing, resetting the points on my 76 XS. Hasn't been running well. I have never been able to get in a good ride since I got it. It had sat in a back yard for some time in Albuquerque before being rescued after the previous owner had passed away.
While running it to get it warmed up, I noticed sparks coming off the points. I don't mean the small sparks you get while the bike is running but ones the shoot 1/2 to 1 inch. Got a new set of points and a new condenser on order. Hope that will solve the issues I have been having.
No idea Bazz, enlighten usI used this tool on my xs today
Anyone care to guess what it's for?
I put an additive in my 2011 Multistrada tank and 2014 WR250 as ethanol has been known to swell plastic tank and other parts (10% ethanol where I live). I’m not hyper vigilant in riding season but if they’re going to sit for a bit. Seems to work as no issues yet.I notice how the fuel lines on my bike get hard within a year or to. Im in europe. All the fuel has ethanol now.
I plan on doing some research to find high quality fuel lines that will last a "bit" longer
Nice, where did you get the crankcase breather from? I like the angled hose barb. What is the hose barb diameter?First time this year it has been warm enough to go into the garage. An almost Mediterranean like 14 Celsius. Spent an hour on minor things, finished off assembling the ER5 carburettors with correct jets and needle. Fitted a reed type breather in place of the original, it gives a bit more room for access around the centre of the carburettors where the ER5 throttle cables run. Bonus, only one vent hose to run. And installed the later type camchain tensioner. All minor stuff but it's not been touched for several months. Good to make a little bit of progress. Pictures -
