What have you done to your XS today?

Completed my exhaust bracket project with adding a rear foot rest.

You're more than welcome. If I remember to tomorrow morning I'll take pictures of the spare filter I have.
@zrx1100 Here we are, the scriber is pointing to the filter relief valve. If anyone's interested, the filter part numbers from Honda are shown in the other picture. I've just ordered half a dozen spare filters, Hi Filtro HF-112, readily available and cheap.

I’ve been running that set up as long as I’ve had my bike. I much prefer the paper filter over the screen. I bought a handful from Amazon. Quite inexpensive. I think the Hi Filtro brand is decent. Mine are no name Chinese stuff.

I agree, the HF filters are decent enough for the price, readily available too. I have used them on various bikes for some time. The HF-112 is available in the UK around £2.50 or so. Very cheap.

When you change the paper filter, do you see much debris caught in the pleats?

Had a change of direction with the headlight brackets
The ones I had were 1950s modified Norton ones in the first picture
I've made some swoopy open ones to show a bit more of the headlamp off
I've used some cafe racer rubber mounted clamps to clamp to the stanchions

Removed the carbs (yet again). BS34's
They are spotlessly clean inside; and seemingly no blockages.
I split both units apart to check the fuel supply 'T' tube between them and no blockage there either.
Blasted carb cleaner through all orifices and compressed air to follow. I'm re-reading a few posts here and the carb guide again.
I will buy some upsized Mikuni brass as I'm running a through exhaust with minimal baffle, along with Unipod filters.
Float heights checked and good.
Any suggestions as to what jet sizes I should try?
Currently: 132.5 mains / 42.5 pilots.

What exactly are you trying to sort on these carbs?

Did the slides show any sign at all of stickiness? I think that was a suggested as a possible issue. Did the slides/diaphragms pass a drop test? New throttle shaft seals fitted?

I think the 34's are different to the 38's, but I found snapped ends of mixture screws stuck in the small hole where the mixture screw is supposed to go. In the end I decided after way too much time and money to give up on my BS38's.

Good luck with it. I know what it feels like to strip these carburettors down multiple times.

Sorry, I can't answer your question about BS34 jet sizes.

@Adamc Sorry if this is an imposition, kindly humour me. Would you measure battery voltage and ignition coil +ve terminal voltage please?
Hi IBALT will do on Sunday. I'm at home now researching Carb stuff whilst waiting for Welsh Water Board to come and sort my supply out!
