Sadly, I can't say that I will be. It took me a few months to machine this; a few mins a week off the clock here and there. If I had my own machine shop I would say I'd make a few. Will you be selling these clutch tools?? I want one
Would you lend the tool if someone’s pays for shipping back and forth?Sadly, I can't say that I will be. It took me a few months to machine this; a few mins a week off the clock here and there. If I had my own machine shop I would say I'd make a few.
Not likely. The only way I would let someone use my tools is if I know them personally.Would you lend the tool if someone’s pays for shipping back and forth?
Look in the Classies. We have a loaner tool thread. In fact, I loaned out my rotor puller just this week.In the ZRX owner group, owners organize community tool/part pools. For example, they have/had a valve shim set that would circuilate via mail. take shim, put used ones back. It would be nice to do something like this here. I can contribute a piston ring compressor and a ring gap grinder.
Awesome! thank you for pointing this out.Look in the Classies. We have a loaner tool thread. In fact, I loaned out my rotor puller just this week.

Keyster kit is good kit; I am just trying to tune the fueling better and the forum guys here always recommend genuine Mikuni brass.Oh boy....why? Just rebuilt mine using Keyster parts.
Thank you. Helped to have a 3D printer to print a prototype to check my "bolt pattern".Top drawer workmanship . Looks well thought out and engineered .![]()
Not sure if you want to go this crazy but I'm planning to make a test pipe for my bike to throw a wideband O2 sensor in. This way I can monitor the AFR at all different points and adjust carb settings accordingly. I bought a setup when I was trying to tune the tripower setup on my old hotrod and I went from running just ok with lots of flat spots in my curve to smooth as silk and almost 18mpg on the highway...we'll worth the 200 or so bucks I spent.Keyster kit is good kit; I am just trying to tune the fueling better and the forum guys here always recommend genuine Mikuni brass.
I also used Keyster to rebuild my GL1000 Goldwing carbs.
The T-piece is the PITA here I bought from Yambits.co.uk. Now bought another one that is 'Guaranteed to fit' from NRP Carbs UK.
As said above, Keyster stuff is good. Obviously OEM is likely better, but Keyster is generally Japanese made not China or Taiwan. (I can't say for sure as I haven't looked but I think all Keyster stuff is Japanese. I have some confidence in that). Not sure if you want to go this crazy but I'm planning to make a test pipe for my bike to throw a wideband O2 sensor in. I hope for goodness that it does fit or my name is mud. It's a curious thing to put on a web shop. Makes me suspect you aren't the only person out there who has an issue with the part.Keyster kit is good kit; I am just trying to tune the fueling better and the forum guys here always recommend genuine Mikuni brass.

Yes Keyster is Japan sourced. The GL1000 and XS650 lit was from Japan. Decent quality and worked well. I just followed the words of wisdom on this forum and went Mikuni OE for the tune up jets. Considering the problems I am having to get a reliable running bike I must eliminate any variables. As said above, Keyster stuff is good. Quite agree given the situation you have.Yes Keyster is Japan sourced. The GL1000 and XS650 lit was from Japan. Decent quality and worked well. Yambits are treating my issue with respect. They have contacted the supplier and wrote the following:I hope for goodness that it does fit or my name is mud. It's a curious thing to put on a web shop. Makes me suspect you aren't the only person out there who has an issue with the part.
Yambits have refunded me no problems when I've had a problem. Though it's fair to say I don't buy much off them.
More on the peashooter mufflers from Armours. It's not been an entirely wonderful experience. I finally got to fit the mufflers to the stock headers on my 77 650D last week. To recap, the stock mufflers they make are 1 5/8" diameter. Approx 41mm. I asked the workshop to make some to fit the Yamaha 40mm headers. For which I paid a supplement. Well, when I fitted one muffler it was very loose on the header. Too loose. It measured 41mm. Not at all what I asked for.Real life and weather has got in the way of bike stuff today. However I took delivery of a set of Peashooter mufflers this morning. I ordered a pair of Commando mufflers from Armours, down in Bournemouth in the south of the UK. As they're all hand made you can request pretty much what you want. I had the inlet to the mufflers made in 40mm to suit the 650 headers without adapters.
First impression is they're very nicely made with good thick chrome. They came with two 2mm thick partly made stainless steel hangers that I'll need to adapt and finish. Also, bolts, nuts and two muffler to header clamps of the right size. Overall I'm pretty impressed and it's a big bonus that folks are still making these in England and chrome plating them. Just about every rule and regulation is against you these days and most shops closed long ago. Well done Armours for that.
First thoughts on fitting them are that they're about 150mm shorter than I expected. Serves me right, I should have asked before ordering. And the captive mounts on the mufflers are maybe 120 to 130mm too far forward. They'll fit, I just need to get creative. I think they're going to look very good.
Picture of one muffler unwrapped, the other still wrapped. The packaging was excellent.

I hope your ultra sonic cleaner works better than mine. I bought mine last October off of Ebay and it worked great until it didn't.Bought all new stainless bolts, washers, lock washers, etc for my chopper yesterday. Started polishing them all, degreased in the ultrasonic cleaner, and shot with clear Cerakote to keep them looking good for many years to come
