What have you done to your XS today?

On the principle of in for a penny, in for a pound etc..... Ordered new speedo and tacho cables today. It's getting like they're the only serviceable parts that I haven't replaced yet. And a set of new rear brake shoes to be delivered later this morning. Arrived. Great service by Fowlers as usual. Cheaper than aftermarket too.

Yes, it's an M10 bolt. The pitch is 1.25mm
Also, Ads.... originally there were self locking nuts on there. The acorns were added by the PO.

Set of genuine Yamaha bolts ordered from Fowlers of Bristol.

£3.96 X 6 = £23.76 Bit bloody steep in my opinion!

True. The way I try to console myself is to think I'm not paying for the part, I'm paying for the whole system - manufacture, inventory, supply chain, handling - which manages to provide me with the esoteric parts I need for a long-discontinued bike.

Went for a ~70 mile ride today. Stopped at a small motorcycle museum about 30 miles out.
I dropped off a stack of my old motorcycle mags for the their "library".
With the new clutch I can now tell the old clutch was slipping a bit.
It was nice having a starter too. I might get used to it!
The bike ran great except I had quite a bit of popping out of the right side when I came off the throttle. That's new.
Something's going on there, I might have to look into it.

And done. Always a good idea to top the engine oil up again before you forget to do it. Must pick up another 5 litres of oil. There's only about a litre and a half left in the container. Just less than 2 litres to put oil level half way between high and low mark today.

I'm hoping that for the first time in my ownership, I have an oil tight engine on this bike. Fingers crossed.

in germany you find the pet coke bottles... they use the simmilare threat like the oilentrance at the xs . if you cut a pet in half it gives you an good to fix funnel!

Might be blocked pilot jet on the r/h carb - a tiny bit of grit or gummy petrol would do that.
