I got a head to go on the 270* rephase I'm slowly working on.
What ignition will you use? I'm just doing another 277 750 & I'm trying to decide what to use.I got a head to go on the 270* rephase I'm slowly working on.View attachment 364997
I have a trispark on my 277. For the 270 I'm not sure, no real bolt on solutions for that one. I have a pamco I could modify, I could make a new trigger for a trispark, or go 36-1 at cam speed with a speeduino or microsquirt. I could probably modify the pickup location for one of the crank triggered CDI setups too. What ignition will you use? I'm just doing another 277 750 & I'm trying to decide what to use.
I have an innognition on order. Does not seem like that one is flexible enough without mods. Here is the answer from Stephan to my inquiry about 270 degrees. “The Innognition runs at 277°. All you have to do is re-solder the Hall sensor on the sensor board. 277° is possible with the original parts. 270° requires special crank webs.I have a trispark on my 277. Yeah, that's why I'm thinking about modifying the pamco. It's just shifting one pickup a little bit. Might even be better to make one adjustable so both cylinders can be properly dialed in like the stock points.I have an innognition on order. But even here it would work if the sensor board were modified accordingly.”
Question. A Pamco fires 1 coil. When you modify it will it fire 2 coils or 1 coil with wasted spark.Yeah, that's why I'm thinking about modifying the pamco. The 277 pamco has 2 pickups. 1 for each coil. So it would be shifting 1 pickup less than 5 degrees on the mount plate to modify it for the 270 crank.Question. A Pamco fires 1 coil. When you modify it will it fire 2 coils or 1 coil with wasted spark.
That 1970-1971 head came from me. My eBay listings are pretty recognizable -- same avatar as here on the forum, and eBay member name of handspiral, again like my avatar. Anyone who contacts me and buys off-eBay gets a big discount.I got a head to go on the 270* rephase I'm slowly working on.View attachment 364997
Even without a discount your prices are fair, and the items are shown and described accurately. I've been kicking myself for not pulling the head off the XS1 engine I sold years ago. They are rather hard to find, and while no real benefit is there other than all the rocker covers matching, I want the matching covers even if the uninitiated won't know the difference. That 1970-1971 head came from me. Anyways, thanks for the purchase.
My 270 rephased 750 motor's Probe ignition went tits up not long back. Pipes N Stuff modified a one off 270 setup for me. Works a treat. The 277 pamco has 2 pickups. 1 for each coil. So it would be shifting 1 pickup less than 5 degrees on the mount plate to modify it for the 270 crank.
I have given a shout out for Pipes N Stuff a few times on the forum. What they don’t know about XS650 probably ain’t worth knowing. Nice to deal with to.My 270 rephased 750 motor's Probe ignition went tits up not long back. Pipes N Stuff modified a one off 270 setup for me. Works a treat.
I hope they bring back the blue plates as an optionI finally received the title for my bike after submitting the paperwork at the dmv about 6 months ago..
The bike was out of the system and I did the YOM paperwork to keep the original blue plate which always takes forever, and it didn’t help that it got sent back because the dmv clerk made a mistake..
