What have you done to your XS today?

Still work on the Japanese Startingsystem ... to bring it to a noiseless reliability!

TAFFY GETS TANKED......

My bike has had a developing weeping petrol tank; gradually worsening over the time I've owned the bike.
Initial look shows the issue.

So I have started to grind off the paint and filler to find the hole....... More on Taffy's build thread later today!

So i had some time today... found a regulator at O'Reilly followed the instructions in link (thanks Jim and 5twins) wired in new regulator , installed volt meter on battery and ammeter on green field circuit.
At about 2000 rpm .... current in field circuit about 1.25 amps and voltage 13.3... rpm increase and regulated voltage at just under 14.2 and current drops to under an amp.
No more light flickering

That's good. At full charge (low battery), the rotor pulls right a 2.3A - 2.4A at about 14V.

Raced home from work a tad early today. Finally opened the shop at both ends for the first time since fall.Uncovered the 75b and 72’s,looked at the 73 project and decided quickly to quit looking and thinking and get to doing something.Long ways to go.lol.

I love your space!

I have several places to go, things to do in about 30 minutes. It’s all going to get done on two wheels.

Seems somewhere on the World is more XS Enthusiasem...:D but i try ... fore those who had to swap the Engine: i use a "Foldy Disablebathlift" and a Adapter wich is bolted on the left side - the "C" Hook carry him close to the Point of Gravity .... and the best : all without Backpain ...

It's an inexpensive AGM battery
I’m using NAPA Legend AGM. The one in my XS650SK is seven years old. Having a couple of NAPA stores nearby doesn’t hurt either. The one in my XS1100 is four years old. It doesn’t seem worse for a lot of sitting.
