What have you done to your XS today?

Installed my new shoes. BAD ASS!!!
Very nice - I have been debating K70s or ME77s. I was starting to lean to the ME77 as a possibly "safer" tire for a beginner rider like me. However, the market may end up deciding - I can't find anyone in Canada with ME77's in stock. The K70 looks like the undated, just starting to crack, chinese tire that came on my '78 xs500.

:twocents: Unless you're stickler for the period look, more modern rubber patterns are better to ride on.
That's why I was leaning to the ME77's - a bit more modern pattern.
The fear of a grooved highway induced speed wobble will keep me from putting K70s or similar on the front when I get that far.
I'm certainly open to suggestions.

Short ride this afternoon on our 75b family keeper with out the chair attached. I do mean a short ride.Left knee and hip has been giving a bit of sign of aging for awhile.Had no idea how weak they’ve gotten until at a Stop sign almost like cartoon stuff, I put my leg down and bout dropped it…..Hitching up the chair back to the 75b and moving the 73TX project in that space.WOWZER,scary stuff and I thought I wasn’t scared of nothing.😱

This is the coolest thing I've seen all day.

Hello everyone, I’d like to introduce myself and the XS650 project I’m currently working on.
I’ve modified the bike more in a bobber style, and there’s still quite a bit of work left to do.
Right now I’m working on the electrical wiring. I want to get the starter working and finally be able to start the bike with a button.
What do you think so far? I’ll share a photo from before the rebuild and how it looks now in the garage.

What do you think?

Dobro Dosli,

make shure that the Startermotor is clean, fresh Grease in the Bearings and that the Carbonlenght is long enouth. Even the Cuppercummotator shut be clean and circular - the gaps between the cupperdivision shut be free from Coaldust - toothbrush (!).
IN ANY CASE: the 10mm narrow nut under the + connector ALLWAYS conter in Tight also in Untightdirection! Othwise the Cupperwiring inside(!) cut be twistet or worste case: ripp off. I also recommend a ~7mm Minuscable direct between the Battery to the rearesidehousing of the Starter - connectet to 8mm upper Bold. All Powerconectors should be cleaned with a brassbrush!
Then you'll find here the Treath about the startergear: make shure that "The Clip" need 7lb (ore +) to "break free" ... the "Bendixwheel" should be free of "Paradontosis" :)
The Relay himself cut even get some Maintanance: you unsolder the little cables, open the Housing and polish the Cupperstuff inside : youll find erosion !

Here at the Starter you see my favorite Masse/minus - connectionpoint!

concerning the "Anker"pic: the bottom one shows the common circumstance after a lausy maintainance, even closed gap in the cupperdivision. the middel one proofs that " jumpstart" is a really WORSTE idea(!) not even a Lathe might fix this Failure!
The top one shows a " top one"!

The carbonpic show that the wiring is done with the way in the slot, the carbon is warnout.
