Just a regular guy.
Just a little before/after shot of my nasty old rear shocks. Or should I say after/before...
Thanks. I don't know them, I'll have to take a look. Why not Topham in germany ?
There's parts I wanted for this order that Heiden Tuning don't sell. Same with Yambits in the UK. They don't keep parts I needed.
for a cheap fix I bought an FMF universal muffler packing kit for about 30 bucks pulled the cones and baffle tubes out wrapped 1/2 the packing around each core secured it some masking tape then wrapped the packing in Stnlss wire. Cut a couple of pices of steel screen in circles to pop in before putting the reverse cones back on. It doesn't draw looks from the local Gendarmes .Yes, my buddy had a set of those shorty megaphones and replaced them for the same reason, lol. He's running the Commandos now and it's all good .....

Watch the recomendation about the retensining ... DONT squeeze paralell in a Vise. Use that 4,5mm Drillshaftmethode!View attachment 372206
On The Bench
Time to retension that pesky starter spring. Plus try a quieter set of mufflers.
Adjusted the front brake lever and (again) did the little overnight clamp-the-lever trick to - theoretically - allow micro bubbles to rise up and out. Lever travel now much reduced and super firm. Happy! And this with the slightly more compressible DOT 5 fluid....
Brakes okay but need adjusted...rear getting over it's slight drag issue (shoe/drum concentricity) but needs tightening up, front needs lever travel adjusted so it starts to bite earlier.

US version...one of the best ideas for bleeding is the "Stahlbus" Valve ... its almost the expensivest Way

I made this Valve by myselve from a genuine bleedingbold:View attachment 372260
On the other Hand there is a DIY Methode with a Plastic-hose where you press a bicycletirevalve in. A small O-Ring around the bleederbold seals the M8 thread to prevent air sucks back in. So it is done in a couple of minutes...

Nice upgrade! I chose to just resurface and drill my stock XS rotor, but for my ongoing KZ project, bought an EBC Vintage disc similar to that. My KZ won't be at a rideable point for a while, I'd love to know what you think about yours on the road?Rotor upgrade. The old one is 3kg. The EBC “vintage” is 1.7kg.
