What have you done to your XS today?

Bath time!

Today I harvested a couple wiring harnesses. I plan on building a new stripped down harness for my 77 project, so I gutted two harnesses to harvest the factory wire and connector blocks. What a spaghetti mess. A lot of the wires in one were pretty stiff. The other yielded some good stuff though. Should be plenty and then some.

Went to a local swap meet today. As expected it was mostly HD stuff. I did manage to sniff out the only XS part at the whole meet though. Picked this standard seat for $20. I’ve been looking for a decent foam for a bit, and this will do just fine. Seller had a very nice SR500 and an XT500 I believe. Not we’re pretty pricey though in the ballpark if $4k.

Well today I had some rather unfortunate news. I stripped my bent rear wheeled XS650 down to the frame to notice that the frame is also bent where the rear shocks attach to the frame.. fun
Does anyone have any advice bending something like this back? also, these welds look modified to me, anyone care to weigh in?

After a road trip on the trailer for 2 days, 1 day of rain, 2 days of riding, 81 went into the wash bay and came out looking spiffy. First time I washed the bike since I bought it. It did get wiped down now and again. Ordered a pan/sump gasket and clutch spring screws for the @gggGary clutch disc pack coming. The old clutch couldn't keep up with the BBK once I got the jetting close and the power UP. :)
