What have you done to your XS today?

Do they make those for an Alcatel flip phone?
Yup a special charger just for those!

I already had the Virago risers on Madness for years. After the Ozarks run then 180 miles yesterday I was Jones'n for an even higher bar. While rooting about the SOIR trying to find some Norton sidecovers, I ran into a new Emgo CB750 handle bar, so off came the eurobar and on went the CB.

Only gave it a run round the country block, then a minor rotation. It moved my hands up about 2". Think it'll be a big improvement and just enough to let me stand on the pegs while riding for back relief.
You gotta do what yah gotta, to be old n still ride.
(shhh don't tell 5T I took off the euro bar)
I'd like to take about an 1" off the ends yet.
That wireless charging phone mount has held the phone for 2,000 miles now, no problem. A valve cover o-ring is a safety backup but so far no need.
Yeah, the T140 bar is comfy, but I probably need that inch you’re cutting off. The XS650 stuff is obviously bigger than vintage Triumph.

I got home Wednesday and went to put the bike up on the center stand and the foot bar broke off*!.
Thought I'd take the stand off and weld it up but the left side pivot bolt was stripped and after wrestling it for while I cut the bolt with a grinder , got the stand off and welded it up and this arvo my new pivot bolt arrived in the post from Geoff's xs in Sydney after ordering it yesterday, cost $15 Aust . Looked at the flash ones with grease nipples but at 17 euro each plus $70 shipping think I'll stick with what I've got.
Followed sound advice on here and fitted the spring first then fitted the pivot bolts, much easier than I remember from years ago and no blood anywhere and the stand works great.
Now to start on the wiring, after installing the new gauges I've been blowing nuetral light bulbs and when I use either brake the gauge lights light up so ii's obviously something I've connected up wrong?.

While you were at it, did you add some gussets as 5T recommends to ensure it won't break again?

G'day Raymond, po had already added the gussets so that's probably the strongest part, not so much the round bar my big foot pushes on though it's lasted over 30 years can't complain.

While I wait for my new rear fender from led sled I figured I'd weld, reinforce and clean up my old one. You guys helped my noob aft end realize it is actually a front fender that's had some extra cable hooks tacked on it.

When I get my new one who wants this?

You add a gusset to the tang, which it looks like you didn't do. It will break again, lol .....

Thanks 5twins, i assumed the mentions of added gussets were referring to the stand itself and the photos in the old posts were unavailable. My bad, would have been easy to add while I had the stand off but at least now I know how to do it right 👍

Just about ready for the frame:
Im up to the stage of painting the frame which means tear it all apart now that everything fits and works.
I know you are never completley done with these old bikes but at this stage I have the frame to paint, calipers to paint and motor to clean and engine cases to paint while motor is out.
Its an Aussie delivered, 6000 Klms and pulled out of a barn in the Adelaide Hills where it sat under an open shed.
Regards - Ray.

a good Memorial Day weekend to all! Haven’t been on in awhile ,had a workplace accident! Wasn’t sure if I was going to be able to ride again! But I have been working on it and now able to ride the ol’ XS once again! Still with some pain when riding but well worth it! Did a lil bit of stuff - paint job, new coil and wires and caps, grips, tune up, new back tire, and a couple of other things to get it ready for the summer and the rally at the Iron Horse in Sept! Hope to see y’all there! Here are some pics! HHHHHHOOOOOWWWWWWLLLLLLL!!!

Finished reinforcing my rear fender and mounting my tail light on the sissy bar. Also went for my first night ride. Finally ticked over 200 miles since me rebuild. Good start to memorial day weekend.
