What ignition system do I have?

Here's my story... never owned a bike and know nothing about them mechanically, but I'm pretty good with muscle cars so I know how to bust a knuckle wrenching and pretty decent with troubleshooting. Anyway, came across this 81 XS650 for cheap that I couldn't pass up. The problem - it doesn't run and I have no idea the condition of any of the components. First thing I noticed is the starter is not hooked up and I want both kick and electric start for the bike, so I started reviewing all of the wiring diagrams here and everywhere. What I came to realize is I have no idea what I have for ignition or charging system. Looks like the points have been removed. Can someone help identify what I have from theses pictures?

Good chance that's a Boyer Bransden iggy http://boyerbransden.com/microdigitalmicropower.html Not sure if it's a red or blue box.
with someone's PMA, MikesXS charge or Hughes would be likely.

Looks the same flywheel I have. RZ Yamaha I believe.
