Hey guys, I’ve pulled an engine of mine apart to get the cases vapor honed and ready for a rebuild. This part is one of the last parts left and I can’t get it out - it has a single screw which I removed but it won’t budge, even with a tap from behind with a punch. Should I just leave it in and let it get blasted along with the case? Also, there’s a small pressed in roller bearing in the side of the case that I didn’t catch what shaft goes into it - it is capped on the other side of the bearing on the outside of the case and I can’t find any info on how to remove it, any ideas? Would a socket and hammer be ok on the backside of the cap, or does it need to be pressed out with an arbor or something else? Sorry for all the questions, just wanna get it right - thanks!

Also, here

The small bearing sounds like the shift selector drum bearing. I cant remember which way it presses out, if you go the wrong way you will destroy it.
Will check and reply later.
The starter gear post (pictured) is best to remove as blast media collects in the cavity behind it and is hard to remove.
To remove the post place cases on side in barbeque , support case so there is enough room for the post to fall out. Light bbq close lid and wait it will fall out when the case gets hot enough.
Also when cleaning the cases post media blasting remove the front oil galleries' plugs and clean the gallery, it is amazing how it gets in there but it does.
