Speaking for myself, I wouldn't be against seeing a "Road Warrior" or 2 in the calendar. One that's ridden more than polished. Not a rat bike, just one that's ridden. Often.

The bike photos are the dream, the inspiration and the encouragement. They are a source of ideas and realisations. As for the name behind the picture, if 5T, Mailman, Two Many or Gary turn in a great motorcycle, we expect it because those fellows are so good at what they do. If some mug from nowhere pops in with a stand-out bike it kinda gives us a shove 'cause, if an unknown can produce something worthy of our admiration, well then, so can we all. Contributors keep the forum motoring and provide we lesser mortals with the opportunity to problem solve as we dabble in our obsession. I agree with Jim's position on giving contributors a priority but remember, it's the bike we're looking at - a work of art, the realisation of the dream!

For me, personally, I love to see bikes that have been restored to stock, showroom condition. I remember seeing them new at the dealer back in the early 70's when I was a teenager getting parts for my LT2 and hoping one day I could own one. Now I'm 65 and own 4 of them. Having said that, if the bike is heavily modified, I love the way some guys have made ADV/Dual-Sport bikes out of them. Team Miyagi on Youtube has several videos of his.

So I am posting from a "the members voted my bike in" position. Once my bike was nominated, I think I refrained from voting. My votes would have been for those bikes that I would like to ride for a day or a week. The early models are very popular now, maybe because they represent a less refined experience, the infancy of the Marque. The 2023 calender bikes are all bikes I would like to ride. Hats off to the other owners.
