Hello, all. currently working on my 80-81 hardtail. This is my second or third time posting on here since I acquired this bike. Now Ive been picking away it any chance I get. To those who helped me out in my last post, Thank you very much. Anyways, on to new things. I wanted to do the clutch cover gasket and replace some missing and stripped out cover bolts. Once removed I noticed I few things. The first thing I notice was the kickstart shaft has some in and out play. Its also missing the seal. How much play is acceptable in the shaft? The second thing I noticed was a part on the axle assembly for the kickstart was making contact with the case and a small piece of the case broke off (pictures provided). What can be done about this? I did notice at one point before all this when kicked it over the kick lever would not return. Third thing I noticed was directly under the clutch assembly behind it is a couple of gears and behind those gears appears to be a spring with an alignment notch. (picture provided) Is this how the spring is supposed to look/be positioned?
Thanks for reading guys.
