Yes we have moved from the city to the lakes northeast of Toronto and their is definitely a huge culture shift that you can almost feel in the air. I can’t wait to get the new Barndominium built it includes a 30x40 11/2 storey workshop/garage, it’s a big step up from my single car garage of the last 30 years.
It’s midnight thirty. I’m riding it out in Georgia. Thr power is out. Tornado warnings all around. Severe thunderstorms in the neighborhood. Someone said “I want to go to bed, but I don’t want to wake up outside.” It’s relatively quiet here while all around is getting slammed.
70 degrees Friday, rain Friday night, 3+inches of snow Saturday night with more coming down. 50s tomorrow, 60s Tuesday.

Lots of drama. Lots of branches lying about. It amounted to nothing at this location. I have a long drive and hope to find the same when I get home. Unfortunately, I expect many weren’t so lucky.
I was told Mississippi had 29 tornadoes in this storm system! Since 1990 the US has been experiencing 1000 tornadoes per year. Nowhere else on earth for tornado fans.
The Willamette Valley is flooding south of Eugene, I need a garage, on piers, with a dock. Maybe trade my motorcycles for jet skis?
Did anyone escape this weather system?
Even out here in Arizona we had rain and a midnight hailstorm a couple nights ago from the storm front that brought you guys your tornadoes.
Cold, hard frost. Lovely crunchy walk. Spotted two otters in the River Tweed - first saw ripples, watched, and the otter came up for breath. Then saw a second otter, stood on a rock just above water level so I saw its full profile. And as I watched, a heron took off and flew past, huge wings catching the morning light as the otter also watched the heron. Then the otter became aware of my approach and quietly slipped off the rock. Faint trail of bubbles as it swam away under the surface . . .

The weather keeps swinging round. Last three days been hard frosts, cold all day, afternoon feeble warmth in favoured sunny spots. Right now, today, cold morning, just a touch of frost. But this afternoon it's actually warm. As long as the Sun's out and you keep out the shade, it's comfortable, even took me woolly jumper off this afternoon. But tomorrow much cooler, windy, wet. And Sunday? The weathermen say probably some mixture of wet-with-sunny-spells or dry-with-frequent-sharp-showers. Hell if I know which is which.
Wales has had a few days of nice unusually warm weather. Time to start tending the garden unfortunately (I hate gardening!).

That looks like a typical winter day here in Mississippi.
Yesterday it was a balmy 17C, but today only 4C. I’ve jinxed it by storing my snowblower away for the season, so we should expect a snowstorm soon. lol.
