Whats your weather right now?

I'm a bit confused as to how mid 60's is "excessive heat".

We've had a lot of rainfall over the weekend, Saturday and Sunday.

This afternoon, very warm and dry. It has become darker and darker - we sat outside for dinner but the sky was heavy & threatening with odd creaks and rumbles. Now, as I sit here at my desk, the rain has started again, proper heavy rain, and there's thunder and lightning now.

And that rain must've gone on all night!

Only light rain for my morning walk but a changed landscape. The packed gravel surface of footpaths has been hollowed out by what must have been overnight torrents, allowing the soil under to be sept away.

Sprouston Burn has been out of its banks during the night and has cleared all vegetation and topsoil over quite large areas and has carried so much stones and soil into the River Tweed that there's a new mudbank reaching more than halfway across the river. It must have been impressive at full spate, but probably too dangerous to get anywhere near. This morning, bemused ducks are standing around mid river where yesterday they would have been swimming.

Let's see what Summer has in store for us today.

you guys are getting our usual summer weather, enjoy.........
Remember winter? Canberra has experienced its coldest run of temperatures in 36 years, with the mercury dropping below zero (C) for the seventh time in a row. The minimum temperatures have averaged minus five so far this month. So in my shed it's been like a bloody freezer.
Minus 5C in the "winter" isn't much to complain about 😀

Would that not contaminate the weld then and lead to porosity?
That's where the carbon dioxide comes in... it's an inert gas, like argon or helium. And just like any inert gas used for welding, it excludes oxygen, water vapor... whatever from the weld as it cools. That's what prevents contamination.

Fwiw, I run Stargon in my MIG machine. It's a mix of argon and carbon dioxide.
