Rolled my newest projects out so I can tidy the shop.
Haven't seen the smoke other places are complaining of, except the moon looks a bit orange.

Storm mostly slid by to the north we just got some rain. I'm QUITE OK with that.
Envious of those dark rainclouds! Record-setting drought here in Montreal until today. First rain since very early July, very much needed!
Here in Central NY seems like a very dry summer. We have had some rain but large sections of lawn are brown. A couple times we have have some heavy rain but a couple hours later walk around the 5 acres and are no muddy places!
Rode about 140 miles today on Taffy, open face helmet and all day sun. Got home with mild sunstroke and a sunburnt lower face…….. nice!

Ads, now that Taffy is a runner, can you put aside the aggravation and frustration and tell us what it's like to ride?

Crazy weather here. Several weeks of super hot and humid weather then almost overnight the temps drop 20C (currently 22C with humidity and a week or so ago it was mid 40’s with humidity). I’ll take this weather any day as long as it doesn’t rain. Nice way to end the summer.
Cold here too for August. Today, predicted 14-19°C. But it's dry and winds are light.
TBH we need some rain. Rivers are low, some streams have dried up, crops are poor this year due to prolonged low rainfall.

Oh yeah! We got one of our famous Haboobs last night. Usually get a couple every monsoon. It’s what we get instead of rain!

I used to commute to work on a motorcycle, I got caught in a really bad one once. You can’t hardly breathe while you’re in it. Later, I had to clean sand and dirt out of my airbox , fortunately the air filter did its job but what a mess!
In my younger days I rode an XS750 head on…..straight into one and it broke my windshield!
They usually leave a trail of broken and uprooted trees in their wake.
Drove a 36' motorhome into a Haboob in Texas in the dry lake bed just west of Guadalupe Mountains National Park.

Sudden Shower and Then This
I could see both ends from my porch but phone couldn't take it all in.

Do you have leaves changing already? We’re having a sudden cooldown, but the heat will be back on shortly.
Leaves around here will not change until mid to late October, fall is usually a gentle slide into uncomfortable riding by mid November.

After being hot as hell all summer it’s now almost too cool. It was about 16C this afternoon. I guess I’ll never be happy with the weather.
Dateline Saturday 8-30-25 Montana:
The Beartooth Pass is CLOSED due to HEAVY SNOW! Midday 2 couples with 3 bikes got stuck in a white out. They were able to get a ride back to Red Lodge but their bikes are still up on the pass.
Hoefully the pass will open today, so they can get their bikes and hit the road again.
Always have your rain & heavy weather gear with you in Montana
