Whats your weather right now?

Modern aircraft are operated "by the book." Take off weight and temperature play a large part. There's graph's in the POH (Pilots Operating Handbook). A Pilot plots on the graph max take off weight vs outside air temp (among other parameters). Those graphs "end" at 120°. Therefore a pilot doesn't have any "numbers" to go by. At that point it's illegal to fly that airplane.

Is that always true? I used to operate in and out of places like Muscat, Kuwait City, Doha, etc. Those graphs were outside my responsibility so I honestly never paid any attention. I was often unaware of it being night or day. I would be a bit surprised to learn that we were never dispatched at over 120. I know you’re familiar with the climate over there.

I just grabbed the first one I ran across... a Dassault Falcon 50. Most commercial jets are similar. Red marks by me.

No takeoff data above 120°F means no takeoff.

Happy Spring Equinox to one and all!

And, as if to celebrate that from now on the Sun is up more than it is down, the weather here today has been easily best this year. Sunny at times, clear-ish skies at times, no breeze, warm sunshine even under light cloud.

Spring at last? The doom-mongers at the Met Office warn us to 'Make the most of this before temperatures start to fall again and the weather becomes more changeable once again. . . '

For many of us over here it’s suddenly 🥵.

So you're lookin forward to temps fallin and, this side, we're not?
Much of the U.S. is going to cook for a few days particularly in the South and West. We’re pretty much going to have July temperatures for the weekend. Not here in Mississippi, but it will be unseasonably warm and by UK standards that’s very hot.

Rain, rain and more rain. Cat 4, (hit cat 5 then softened before crossing the coast), cyclone has crossed the far north Peninsular. A few k's north but we are getting rain from it.

Since late December when we had a rain depression hit this area, with 4 days of solid rain, dropping 1.2 meters in that 4 days, we would b lucky if we have had more than a week were we have had no rain at all.

When we get a good wet like this locals start to grow webbing between their toes

Yeah, we're at 80F down here in Mississippi or about 15 above average. Certainly, a lot cooler than you. Hey Bob, are you frying eggs on the sidewalk in AZ?
