Whats your weather right now?

The upper floor of our showroom hit 40 yesterday!
I had to do an accompanied test ride late afternoon; and even in an air tech mesh jacket I melted!
My helmet was also soaked.

I’m visiting Craig County, Virginia. An elderly gentleman in the grocery store just asked me if I was prepared for this summer heat. I responded, “I live in Mississippi. There is no heat here.” He could do nothing but nod in agreement. It’s all relative. Mississippi will soon be 95F+ all day every day. BUT, it’s a damp dense heat.

35-37 Celsius today and that is 35 -37 warmer within a month
half past one today everything was quiet --- no trafic -- all windows closed--- everyone indoors for a few degrees cooler
Houses are built to keep cold out .but Now acting keeping heat out.

Is that Rootes as in Rootes Group...Sunbeam Tiger?!
That's the one. Even had one of those in from a local owner who got it serviced by us.
It was usually entrusted to one of the more senior mechanics, as it was a bit special.
Odd really - take a not very special sports car, plonk in a not very special lump and suddenly it's 'special'.
It went like a rat up a drainpipe, though.

No, we don't have a/c, not many houses in Britain do. Some workplaces do, like offices, typically in London, where today could reach 95°F. There is debate now about installing a/c in schools, colleges, hospitals and maybe new-build houses but it's not part of building standards yet.

How can they avoid some of it. ??
I heard about a Headmaster sending kids home from School ... But how about the elderly in care. ?
They have problems drinking eating .Are they gonna sit +30 C and up Executed as in a sweat box WW2 Japanese Sweat Box
Common sense must prevail .. I can see relatives put it in plain words
Shut the **** up and install the AC Now.

News papers calls it the Death Heat .. down in Europe people are dying.

One of the many reasons I live in Maine is that I don't DO heat! Anything much over 75° (24°C) and I start looking for reasons to hide out in the basement (a comfortable 55-60F year around) or find an air-conditioned space.

I've been known to flop a futon mattress on the basement floor and nap down there...

Since we're finally getting some decent weather..

Pretty good progress. Once I have the new larger raised dirt area surrounded with rock walls and infilled it'll get a composite deck with room for plantings around it. By doing this raised surround, code doesn't require railings cuz the deck is only a foot above the ground.
I'm not an Englishman so must be a....
