Hello Guys.

here go my first post in the overwhelming forum.

I am a happy owner of a 77' xs650 - the addition to my custom Honda cb350f (the xs sidekick)

When I bought it there was a charging issue, so I decided to upgrade to a Permanent alternator charging system. As my Honda project almost bancrupted me, I made it my first priority that it should not be the case with the Yamaha.
Therefore I purchased all the required parts for the system from ebay (97' Honda VF stator, R/R, Banshee rotor and puller). Instead of buying a finished system package like these:

http://www.heidentuning.com/p/28/2072/mo74-cg|23=4/#ht-0002-12-v-powerdynamo--alternator-system-

In hindsight I should have done just that, as I ordered the brackets I need from Hughs handbuild in the US. Unfortunately the package got lost in transit and I am now in a standstill with my project.

I got a refund from Hugh and Heidentuning say that they don't sell the bracket seperatly.

My issue is now that I only need that damn bracket to mount the hole system.

Do any of you xs650 gurus know where I can find a mounting bracket for the alternator preferably within Europe? I just want to ride my bike now :banghead::bike:

Note:

The brackets I ordered from Hugh was these:

In the setup of my dreams one bracket like this is what would rock my world:

Thanks in advance

I assume you mean 'Where to buy" not "Where to but"
What were the charging issues? I have found the stock system is a very good system. The only real advantage to a PMA is you can run with out a battery. But I don't see that as a real advantage.
With my bad knees I can't kick start a bike very well so I need the battery to run the E-start.

Hi Leo.

Thanks for your reply.

Yeah, a stupid typo in the headline of my first post, that cannot be edited. Great!

It did not charge at all and the wires were fried. But know that I have bought all the stuff I need, exept the bracket, I see no reason to go back to the old worn system. I also have a very small battery for kick-only that I intend to use. As I am 26 years old and fit for fight, it is just good exercise

Sorry to hear about your knees.

hotdog, thanks for posting that link! You just saved me hours (meh) of measuring. Hugh is out of stock currently, so I'm fabbing a bracket up now. I owe you a beer.
