Welcome jody buck,

Need a sentence with grammar for the sentence to make sense and to be clear about what you have, and what your replacing it with..............need more information about your bike to be able to tell you what is required for your model. For all we know things could have been changed and the wrong part is on there now............

Pics will help us identify what you have as well. This can be an important tool, as newbies often have no idea what should be on the bike and what is.

Identify what model you have or post the Vin no so we can verify or tell you if it has been misidentified

Is it stock or has it been modified to PMA? Are you sure you have the right Regulator?

I'll take a crack at grammeritizing it.

Have a 5 wire system.
replacement is 7 wire.
bike is 1 red 1 blk 3 yellow.
replacement is 1 red 1 blk 1 green 1 brown 3 white.

Sounds like he may have a PMA system, but wrong regulator...

Sounds like he's talking about a rectifier on the bike and and a combo reg/rec replacement. But, this is all just guessing. Wire it up and watch for smoke, lol.
