That happened to me as a teenager and I snapped the shock shaft but my leg didn’t break (that time)
I suspect his leg/foot is mostly up out of the boot.

I don't know if it was packaging but the Fairlane, Falcon and later the Mustang 6cylinder models got a non syncro 3 speed until 1967. My wife's 66 Mustang got a 67 3 speed after the original gearbox failed twice.

That little dynamo puts out about 60 volts when there is no load (light bulb) on it. Good enough for a good zap.
Ask me how I know............
My first electronic bodge was installing a zener diode and resistor on a bicycle dynamo so it wouldn't burn out the headlight going down the "Oak Street hill"

I played with plastic "model cars". They had rubber tires. I forced one over the drive wheel of those little "Union " dynamos so my bike head light got a reduced voltage (significantly) when I raced home on my bicycle at night after some nefarious acts... I was pedaling like her dad was chasing me and the light bulb would still survive...
I get vertigo just looking at the pic...
