WTF pictures

He's a purty lil' fella'. I have snakes around here for days here. Red and yellow rat snakes, the occasional Eastern Diamondback Rattler, Pygmy Rattlers, Timber Rattlers, the odd Eastern Coral and Harlequin Coral snakes, and a Black Racer that we've named Wendell Scott.

We have a canning/root cellar/ storage room in our basement. I ripped out the sorry ass shelves and me and the wife plastered the cracks in the floor and repainted.

There was a little garden snake in the basement, and I'm a pansy so I sheepishly made my wife take him outside.

Either he got back in the way he came or this was a different one. We tried to get him to come out of the crack before we sealed it but he refused so we entombed him in there. As a joke I made him a gravestone out of a piece of cardboard.

I don't know why I hate snakes so much. I'll ride my bike 100 miles an hour down some country backroad with no helmet on but if I see a snake I freak out.

Somewhere society has failed terribly. Makes me :(

Society treated woman as second class citizens who were regarded as mens chatels
Woman couldn't get a higher education, husband/men had to sign for them to have a credit card or bank acc, sacked if they got pregnant, airline stuardess had to b a certain height, certain weight, soft hands. Woman were discriminated against for a mired of reasons mainly due to religious reasons. Couldn't divorce unless grounds of adultery.

Discriminated against when applying for jobs.

I'm old enough to remember what happened in Cambodia when Pol Pot took over.

Killed all academics, anyone with an education, schoolteachers, scientists, Burned all books. Not saying he didn't kill imbeciles but destroying knowledge with no education makes for a complient society, easier to control
Honestly that sounds like any NATO country atm!

"In October 1979, Michael Binning, a homeless alcoholic, was arrested in Bristol, England, for being drunk and disorderly. Police placed him in a cell at Trinity Road Police Station—and then forgot about him for 18 days.

  • Binning was not formally booked into custody, so his detention went unrecorded.
  • He survived by drinking water from a dripping pipe and eating scraps from leftover food trays.
  • After 18 days, a cleaner finally heard his weak cries for help.
  • The case caused a national outcry over police negligence.
  • Binning suffered severe physical and mental trauma but received only £3,000 in compensation (around £15,000 today).
  • The "Holegate" scandal led to reforms in UK custody procedures, including mandatory log checks.
  • Some reports suggest it may have been "only" 4–8 days, but official inquiries confirmed at least a week or more. The exact duration remains debated, but the neglect was undeniable."

And this, gentlemen, is why you cannot trust any of the artificial intelligence websites! The entire story was made up by Deepseek.
Not a single word of it is true! Not only that, but Gemini AI (from Google) confirmed that it was true.

Should we be afraid of AI? T'other day, had occasion to ask Google AI assistant who ruled England in 1567. Already knew the answer so it were like a test for the AI. And it came up with this load of tripe:

"In 1567, Mary, Queen of Scots, was the ruler of England, but she was forced to abdicate the Scottish throne in favor of her infant son, James VI, who then became king."

That's a cut'n'paste. AI 100% failed the simple test.

BTW, for them as might not be familiar with early modern English history, in 1567 England was ruled by Elizabeth the First, queen until her death in 1603. Having no heirs, Elizabeth was succeeded to the throne of England by James VI of Scotland, who became James I of England. 1603 is known as the Union of the Crowns.
