Should we be afraid of AI? T'other day, had occasion to ask Google AI assistant who ruled England in 1567. Already knew the answer so it were like a test for the AI. And it came up with this load of tripe:
"In 1567, Mary, Queen of Scots, was the ruler of England, but she was forced to abdicate the Scottish throne in favor of her infant son, James VI, who then became king."
That's a cut'n'paste. AI 100% failed the simple test.
BTW, for them as might not be familiar with early modern English history, in 1567 England was ruled by Elizabeth the First, queen until her death in 1603. Having no heirs, Elizabeth was succeeded to the throne of England by James VI of Scotland, who became James I of England. 1603 is known as the Union of the Crowns.
I guess it did some more research.
