One of my favorite T shirts I had back in the day during the Cold War (1984-1990) when I was stationed in Alaska. There was an outline of the state of Alaska with some F-15 silhouettes on it and it said in bold letters "We provide Top Cover for America".
There was a footnote below the silhouettes that further said "Its not the end of the world, but you can see it from here!" meaning Russia of course.
No idea what happened to it, but still remember the shirt.

Recall west berlin check point ... a pal grabbed one of the signs..."You are Leaving the American Sector", and he's bringing it to me...he says. Plan to place it at my gate... !!

I`ve been to Juneau. The whole town smells like the fish cannery. After $450 worth of ground school I did get to fly a Cessna 185 sea plane over the Mendenhall Glacier. Mendenhall Mud (fudge) was delicious.
Always liked the VC10, from when I were a lad, seeing the BOAC ads for it.

In the old days before cheap digital memory, or no memory at all, lab work relied on observations and lab notes. Imagine a display that once shut off, could never be recalled again. Unimaginable today... In the old days you could make a measurement, take notes, but it was gone when you made the next measurement. I was amazed when I checked into a lab and they had one of these. A camera designed to fit the O-scope display and shot a polaroid shot of a test result. The ensuing picture got taped into the lab book report.
