Anyone know if the SR400-SR500 fork lugs where the caliper mounts are located, are the same as the xs650's. I'm looking to verify if the hole spacing is the same on both sets of forks. Looking to buy a bracket for a drum brake set up. Its only listed for the SR400 and 500. I'm away from my project or I'd measure it myself. Think the holes to mount the bracket is 120mm. Center to center. Any help in the matter is greatly appreciated.

The SR500 and XS650 use the came caliper and hangers for the later style single piston calipers. I converted my 77 over to a left side caliper unit from an SR. They are marked specifically for each side R/L and not interchangeable from side to side though.

Does the SR have the same diameter rotor as the XS650? If not, the lugs will be positioned accordingly.
Yes the rotors are the same. The only difference is the 650 is right side, the 500 is left side. I did the same as Willis did on my 650. The fork legs, rotors, and calipers are the same for 500, 650, 750, and 850.

The XS750 and XS850 have smaller brake rotors. The XS1100 has same rotors as XS650.

On the 1975 XS650, the dimension or distance from center of hole to center of hole on the caliper mounting lugs is 84MM in case this comes up again.
Thank you for your attention on this matter.

Yes, the caliper mounts on the '76 and older 34mm 650 forks differ from the '77 and later ones because those older forks use the early style 2 piston caliper. In '77, Yamaha introduced a new single piston style caliper and it's mounting holes are spaced differently. That drum brake adapter part you want will fit the '77 and later 650 forks.
