This hit the shop floor. We checked it out... 13.7 volts with the lights on. Idles just below 1000 and rolls on with no flutter. Compression about 150... leak down test was excellent. Rides wonderfully... clutch action smooth.... tight. No leaks.. no casket seepage. So we'r not going to crack open the engine. Just pull covers buff and shine. It'll get stripped to the frame and related frame bits...for powder coat. All other parts painted in three stage candy. Forks are pitted...... all chrome needs attention. I need to source a correct " smooth " tail light.. So Monday... I start breaking it down ! ... will keep the forum posted. Also, an 82' Special I just bought back... next to it... Decided I'll strip it enough to clean and paint the frame... with engine in place... and remove all the black bits... a lot since it's the one year all black model.. and paint it.
