XS2 tubing connecting carb to carb

While trying to chase down an air leak, I had to remove and reinstall the carbs on my 1972 several times. I found this to be a royal pain in the neck, due to the 2 hoses that connect between the 2 carbs. It wouldn't be bad if you could install the carbs without disconnecting these tubes, but I wasn't able to slide the carbs into their locations with the tubes connected. I had to install the left carb from the left side and the right carb from the right side. Did I just give up to easily, or is there a way to wiggle the connected carbs past the downtube without unhooking one side of the tubes?

You did it the way I always have had to do it.
I don't find that connecting the tubes to be that big of a problem.

Thanks, I suspect that I need the next size larger tubing. I have probably just been a little paranoid, being afraid of leaks. I'll try the next size bigger and see how it goes. THANKS
