Xs650 revs high when warm.

I recently purchased a 1980 xs650 as a winter project. When I bought it, it had a vacuum leak and have a very high idle when the bike had warmed up. I replaced the carb boots as well and the gasket, and this solved the issue and brought the idle to a normal level. But I am still having a similar issue, once the bike is warm and I shut it off. If I start it five to ten minutes after it just ran, the idle goes up to around 3000, which is much better than the 6000 before the carb boots but still wayyyyy too high. Has anyone had a similar issue?
