I put on an LED headlight which worked fine for the first few weeks, but then it started flickering while I was riding and eventually stopped working altogether. Replaced the headlight with a stock one to no avail. My dash lights all light up when I switch the bike on, just the headlight doesn’t work.

With the headlight relay unplugged the dash lights still work, I noticed on some other models removing this relay kills the dash lights too but I guess not on this one. If there’s a way to bypass the thing I’d rather do that than replace a part that will go bad again. It’s a 5 pin connector.

Think that is your flasher cancelling unit

You’re right. I noticed also that the horn doesn’t work, but it makes a small sound and dims the lights on the dash. When I remove the flasher canceling unit the flashers and break lights still work fine. I can’t find a headlight relay anywhere but my model doesn’t have the headlights on off switch like earlier ones.

Just picked up a 79 xs750 triple. The headlight didn't work when you turned on the key so the previous owner did some redneck engineering and wired in a toggle switch on top of the headlight. Dose the job but I can't switch from low to high beam and my turn indicators don't work. Everything else works great. Carbs need a little adjusting but for a 45 yr old bike it's in great shape it's all there minus a side cover. The main relay is located under the left side cover right? Kind of close to the back tire? A 4 pin connector
