Yamaha 650 Society 2023 Smokies Rally

Is this rally in Stecoah, NC different than the Smokies Rally that happens in September in Townsend or is it the same thing?
More people more fun? Are there slower riders like me?
Yes. The Smokies Rally is not publicized away from here, so BYOF. (Bring your own friends.) It could be eight to twelve or maybe Shorty is there by himself.
For VYR, look at my YouTube (jetmechmarty). You’ll get an idea. I’ve been there when it was over 100 of us.

I’m sure you can find someone. I think I last went in 2019. I’ve moved on.

Does anybody know Shorty's forum name? It would be nice to get a contact and figure out who intends to show up.
Camden (Shorty) does not participate on the forum or any other. That’s the problem.
Some history:
Shorty started the Townsend rally within the 650 Society about 27 years ago. I believe Don Lawson helped kick it off. The 650 Society had a bimonthly newsletter that had several contributors. So, the rally had the support of an active 650 Society with newsletter. The Society ended up on the shoulders of just one person with too few contributors. My understanding is that time and money for one person to keep it going is not/was not sustainable. With Shorty technologically in the Stone Age, this thing has been dwindling in attendance for several years. There’s not a way to know who’s going to show up outside of us here or on FB. With the organizer absent…
