Gary, I/ve decided to build a 700 with a Shell#1 cam. I'm going to have the crank welded and heavy duty rods installed but pretty much stock internals with a stock (other than valve springs) head, and I'll be running 1/2 mile flat track pipes. Have you ever used head pipe torque inserts?

I have them on Madness a high comp 750 with 1 3/4" stainless headers but you might have seen my comments in the recent thread. These status posts tend to get lost in the shuffle.

My XS1-B sold...
The asking price was $6800. The buyer paid that and more. Thank you all for your help and advice.
It breaks my heart to sell. During the open selling period I went to have the motor professionally tuned. While in the shop an astute buyer and I made an agreement. The tuning has made the bike easy to start. Sadly I must keep my word. This bike was too nice for me anyway.🙁

Very nearly done. Riding like new with everything done to restore it. My profile pic is from around 1986. Here is today at 28k miles. I still have the original seat and extra '81 carbs & exhaust, Actually a bunch of parts. I have newsletters from the early days of the society and a manual. What is she worth? I am the original owner.

Nice that you have had this bike since new. Your restoration looks great, that seat looks very comfortable too!

What brand/size tires are you running and how do you like them?

They're 110/90 18 in the rear and 100/90 19 in the front, and they say Challenger on the side. The guy I bought the bike from had them already but hadn't mounted them yet so I have no idea where they're from I just put them on. That being said I've actually got no complaints regarding them in the four years or so I've had them on the bike.

Gary, Hi!. I'm working on my '75. Trying to do things myself without bothering John. He did tell me that there was a thread about upgrading the brakes on their 650B with black SS brake lines with a write up with pictures and part numbers. Do you recall? Was it Mr Heubert by any chance?
