Lifter nubs

My son is modifying his '76 rocker arms to fit Porsche style adjusters.
His rockers have the extra nubbins that go with the early model valve lifter.
If the nubs are ground off like the later rockers will the weight reduction be worth having on a stock engine or will it not be worth the effort?
 
It's not necessary, but would help offset the extra weight of the new adjusters. Your call. I wouldn't want them on a hotrodded engine, though....
 
I left mine on....honestly not worth the trouble on a street bike. The porsche elephants feet are a great mod though.

yeah, what I thought, it ain't worth the hassle. And besides, if we ever find a compression relief set-up at a swap meet we can install it just for the cutesy look.
It'd go with the hardtail.
Yes, my own son! Building a hardtail! There is an excuse. The bike was salvaged from a scrapyard and it's rear frame was all wrecked up. Better a running hardtail than the scrap pile.
