Hair No Hair

i've been to a barber maybe twice in my life.... one as a snotnosed 5 yr old kid and once when I was in school at my Dads request... never went back either.
I never had long hair but I cut it myself at the ranch.... that's just how it was done ...or Mom did it depends how frowzy i looked after taking the clippers to myself , some times she would take over in self defence ! .... I was married for 5 years before I could grow a beard ! that was just wrong !!!!!
about 8 years ago I decided to cut off my beard and go clean shaven ! I didn't reconise myself ! i had to wait a week before I could stand the sight of me in the mirror ! it was bad man ! .....never again ! LOL.....

Mom was a trained hair dresser so haircuts were done at home. Once in a while Dad would say it was time to get my "ears lowered." His way of saying it was time for a ahircut. My hair was still "long" but never much past mid ears. Now at 60 my hair is no longer dark brown and the base Barber cuts my hair. Maybe 3-4 times a year. When it get "long". Thank goodness there's still lots of hair to be cut.

My friend at work brought a photo in for me. Chicago 1974, on a Kawasaki H-1 500.
Check out the mutton chop sideburns and the cool sissy bar!

Indeed - and I like that 1970s ring-ding!

Say, what do you give a Kawasaki triple owner for Christmas?

.....a case of injector oil and a six-pack of pistons.....

Marty, you still got it! I'd trade my little bit of dark fuzz for your silver mane! Haha

DoubleE, you look like you were channeling your inner rock and roller there, kind of a Neil Young vibe!

AZman! Looking good man. Another AZ member checking in! It's fun to be able to put faces with names. Thanks for posting.

That's what's cool about this thread that Bob started. We all have an image of the guy on the other end of the email - it's fun to see how accurate that image turns out to be.

Wow Fred you really were such a cute little chap! My Mom used to tell me that I had blonde curls like that - and that she cried the first time my Dad took me to a barber. Anyhow, nice piccys!

Hey Fred, nice photos. You really got the hang of that! By the way, is that a BSA Rocket 3 in your second photo?

Hi Mailman,
the hang is not quite perfect yet; still takes a deal of vile language to put the photos onto the site.
The bike is mebbe 1/3rd of a Rocket 3. It's a 1970 BSA B25 250cc single.
It's been passed on to my youngest boy to give it a better chance of seeing the road once more.

oh Drool ! i'ed give my left nut for a bike like that Fred !!!! LOL
I love single 4 strokers the older ones are the best ! these new ones just don't have it right ...I don't know what it is but they feel like a 125cc instead
though Yamaha has a nice street version of a 250cc single that I've been drooling over ! for my back road riding one of those would be better than the big heavy 650 i think !
.....
