These parts have been cleaned, bead blasted, degreased and painted with VHT paint (O'Reilly Autoparts) and are ready to be baked in the oven per the instructions on the back of the VHT paint can. We used Engine degreaser initially with a small screw driver to scrape away the thick junk. Then we used many cans of carb cleaner (Wal-mart). The I taped off the holes and bead blasted them. After that, I used a 5 gallon bucket filled with water and detergent and moved the parts up and down in the bucket. Then washed them with water, blew off the water and then painted per VHT instructions. I chose to paint them because the aluminum was not uniform in appearance even after all of the cleaning. They turned out great!
