Good news, the motor turns over freely and makes compression!

    New To Me - 1976 XS650C

Howdy, picked up this one recently. Several missing parts and in scrappy condition. Asking for ideas, in this condition, would you part it out, or go for a restomod? Dare I say it...chopper? I appreciate you thoughts.

    Need a Key, Coils, Tank

Thanks for that too, NJ. I see in the specs that the '76's redline is 7500. Because of the these differences, I am confused as to the origin of this gauge cluster. If I can get it running, I will take it easy on the revs.

    Need a Key, Coils, Tank

thank you all for the fast, detailed responses. New key is on order. Good news, the motor is not stuck. And has compression, although I do not know the current values. More pictures as the project progresses, but here are few more for the road.

    Need a Key, Coils, Tank

Good eye, my man! I tumbled to that when I was researching drawings on CMSNL. A '76 with a '75 dashboard is not a complete surprise since they often use up end-of-run last previous year parts on this year's production. That, or a PO swapped it, by my money is on the former.

    Need a Key, Coils, Tank

Friends, I have a 1976 XS650C. I need a key for it with code 3167. It does not need to be a 'genuine' Yamaha key, but that would be nice. Please reply with options. Willing to pay good money for the key. I could use some coils as well. And a tank. Here are some pictures.

Asking for Aces (or just some good advice)

Well the mystery is solved. This is a 1975 (XS650B) gauge cluster, mounted on a 1976 French Blue XS650C (VIN# 447-21XXXX).

Asking for Aces (or just some good advice)

...I do not see the dashboard. Have any of y'all seen this type of dashboard before, and on which model? Thanks.

Asking for Aces (or just some good advice)

Hi there. Here are some pictures of the dashboard of my 1976 XS650C. Comparing the pictures that show the key switch, turn indicators, stop light, etc. But when I look in CSMNL website for this model,

    New '76 in the Barn

Howdy, just scored this pair of LFDs (left for dead). On the left is a '74 Honda CB750K4, and on the right is a '76 XS650C. It appears to have been dressed in French Blue, from what little paint is left. So now the thinking starts. Restore? Restomod into a cafe or a chopper? Sell it on as a...
