    Exhaust tape??!

Flux caps were not invented until 1950.

    Exhaust tape??!

Juxtaposition in time warp. A turbo encabulator should help resolve time/phase shifts on the spheroid valve.:cautious:

    Exhaust tape??!

Wrapping the pipes insulates. More heat is retained. So viscosity goes UP! Density goes down. This maintains velocity of exhaust more evenly to tune the pipe easier. Little tuning tweaks for race bikes.

Securing Rear Chain Sprocket Bolts with Just Red Loc-tite??

do not remove markers, they should look like a safety check from the factory lock washers if used are on the screw side

Securing Rear Chain Sprocket Bolts with Just Red Loc-tite??

I use goop. Seals well, prevents siezeing and prevents loose screws from any vibration. They come out easily with constant torque to break the rubber seal. cliff

    BS34s and white plugs

Q-Jets when tune correctly open the throttle instantly. Before the air valve opens fully, a shot of fuel from the pull over enrichment(POE) down the secondarys eliminates WOT hesitation. Same can be had with VM's when idle screw/idle air and cut-away is tuned. On lower overlap cam bikes only...

They are pretty accurate on the rich side. Lean side is not as, but we are tuning for max. power WFO/WOT or just heavy load. Fat is where it's at. Fuel economy, etc. can be, and should be tuned without wide range O2's. Unless you wanna keep the catalyst at peak efficiency.

Good point. These thimbles are not small. Sweet spot is in middle of the pipe, but that spot is not in the center of the thimble. Just keep it hot and place them where you can.

High mass flows thru long end of the bend. I.E. high velocity tends to take the easy/long way around. Much less takes the short side radius. Exhaust/air/O2/fuel piles up on the short side of radius. Momentum tends to stay in motion someone said. Reading O2 in exhaust on the single pipe/cyl is...

Any free O2 out is lean. It will burn with CH8 in the chamber unless so.

6" is optimum Jim is right with O2 mixing. 6" will negate those fears, unless at the bend in the pipe. 18" or so may be only alt. cliff

Wide range(band) need 700°F to operate properly. Internal heater may get cooled off at the tailpipe. Always turn them on before starting to pre-heat. Otherwise thermal shock will kill em. Especially cold start moisture(water drops) cliff
