After a few days with these things it’s still running good. They seem to want to accelerate a LOT when I had the bs34s it was pretty even through all the acceleration. These just kinda want to go go go if you know what I mean. Not necessarily a complaint but that’s just kinda how they are.
Took off my old charging system and ignition. Just gonna throw it all out if nobody wants any of it. Pretty sure coils are dead but I could be wrong. Rotor has less than 100 miles on it. Stator is in good shape as far as I know. TCI computer and rectifier might be bad.
I’m not sure what all...
No problems here! Just a quick story about my carbs
So my carbs broke AGAIN recently on my 1981 XS650. I had the stock bs34 carbs. They ran like crap pretty much no matter what I did to them.
a few days ago they bit the dust for good. Could they have been fixed? Probably, but I was tired of...
Copy that 5twins, looks like I need to go back and re do it.

I’ll try and snag a wheel today...
Got the bike idle smooth again! Carb issues haha!! Now back to the timing issue. If you check the link a few posts up you can see where my timing mark is. From what I understand it needs to be 15 degrees to the left of TDC at idle and on the left most mark at 3000 rpm. So my timing is correct on...
Also my float was stuck in place. Free’d it up and gas flows smooth. However my T is leaking now. Gonna try Pete’s fix and see how that goes. Other than that all seems to be in order
Oh okay well then that’s great. So I don’t know if you could see it in the video where it was but if I understand you correctly than my idle timing is correct?
This is what my left side cover looks like. where the xscharge plate is.
Also i would like to add that as soon as you take off the choke it dies.
Really does sound like a fuel problem the more i think about it. Which would be much easier to deal with.
