Good day to everyone! I have a problem (again) I recently acquired some fork tubes (6" overs) with damper rod's, springs etc but no lower legs. My originals are 34mm Dia (XS650 1975) and these tubes are also 34mm Dia BUT in the 6" overs the damper rod piston measures 26mm and the internal bore...
Good morning!
I'm looking for an outlet or anyone that may have a set of 34mm extended forks tube's and be willing to ship to the U.K. As I can't seem to find anywhere that sells them. If anyone can help I'd be very grateful.
Happy new years!!
Is it possible to put an 78' gearbox into an earlier 75' motor? (Both 447 motors) I know that Yamaha changed the shape of the gears for the box in 78' but will they match up with the crank and clutch on the 75'?

Chain is new, It's been used for about 5 mins running before I stripped motor again due to this timing issue.
5° is about 1/2 a tooth on cam sprocket. I'm close to removing cam sprocket and moving it over that 1/2 a tooth.
Has anyone any ideas of how to hold the pistons at tdc while I'm installing the cam chain? They move every time I try. Besides that I cannot for the life of me get the thing timed up properly it's always 5° out
Think I've found my problem.......... if I double up on head gaskets totalling 0.114 (way to much) I can't get the cam chain on the cam and the notch is over the centre in the opposite direction to before. So I'm heading in the right direction with the deck height being too short. Over the...
Quick look at it and the cam is about 5 degrees out from being in the right place. The chain is 106 link, 7.74mm pitch for the US spec 447 motor.
That's like half a tooth on the sprocket!?!?? How can this be?? This is proper dopng my head in.
