All that makes sense to me. I overlooked the lights on/off switch. could be a compromised battery though it was on a charger and showing plenty of voltage. I'll double check that tomorrow as well.

Appears to have been a bad safety relay. When I bypassed it everything works fine. I do have good ground on handlebars. I do have a wiring diagram. weird thing, that blue black wire has power in it without being connected to anything. Not sure whats up with all that but everything works now...

Thanks, I'm pretty convinced its a grounding issue. I am using a 78 motor and harness in a 75 frame. The triple tree rubber isolates the handlebars, which tripped me up a bit while trying to get the horn to work. I finally did get the ground in the bucket to the switch made and ironed that...

Hi Guys, Can't make heads or tails of the wiring diagram. Can anyone tell me how to hook up the coils to the harness. the Gray, Brown and Orange wires don't seem to have reciprocating connectors. I may have different year coils and harness though. Not sure. Then theres the red/white wires...

Thanks, a guy on another forum mentioned the same thing. specifically the connector between the stator and the regulator etc. seems like a common problem.
