Thanks for your help fellows, I thought it would need to be rubber to stop the oil from leaking??? When I assembled it, it had nothing and it leaked. I have a lot to learn and not much time to learn it!!

It threads into the fork dampener

That is at the top of the fork, I am talking about the very bottom of the fork. It is between the allen bolt and the bottom of the fork.

I bought a bike in a box and I am reassembling the fork tubes. The allen bolt that goes into the bottom of the fork does not have an o-ring. The repair manual that I purchased shows "packing" between the bolt and the bottom of the fork leg. Could I just use an oil resistant o-ring or do I need...

I'm removing the bottom allen bolt on a fork tube and the bolt spins but doesn't come out of the tube. Any tricks to help?? Thanks :banghead:
